Extrusion System
Our patent pending extruders work by flowing Alginate, Cells, and Calcium Chloride into the extruder. The extruders allow the production of a single tube or multiple tubes simultaneously with your cells inside. These hollow tubes allow an isolated space for your cells to expand in, while being able to provide transport of nutrients into and byproducts out of the tubes. Our single channel extruder will perfectly suffice for research experiments, while our multi-channel extruders will allow you to create massive amounts of cells in a small volume.

Bioreactor
Our bioreactors are designed specifically with AlgTubes in mind. We use an airlift design to maximize oxygen transport for the cells while providing agitation inside the vessel to keep well mixed conditions. The Temperature, pH, DO, Glucose and Lactate Concentration are controlled in a non-invasive manner to avoid Algtube damage. With the AlgTubes having a high cell density, it is possible to take 1mL seeded at 1 million cells/mL and get up to 500 million cells in just one passage.

Our Team
Dr Yuguo Lei and Dr Hendrik Viljoen decided to start CellGro Technologies to bring a valuable technology to market. The technology bears an analogy to the transistor – it enables a significant reduction in the footprint of cell manufacture, and multiple functions (i.e., cell manipulations), can be integrated into a single processing unit.
